Choose a research project for your local school science fair. We have some great links on the Project Ideas page. There are also tons of great ideas on the Science Buddies website.
Does the project involve humans, animals, or hazardous chemicals or dangerous activities? If so, you need to find out what protocol procedures and forms you will need. Use our Forms Finder page. It is also highly recommended that you download and read the Intel ISEF International Rules & Guidelines PDF booklet.

Are you a 4th-8th grade student? Take a student research workshop. Not required, but ENCOURAGED! Meet a lot of students like you who are interested in science.

Transmittal Forms and SRC/IRB Rosters due (from teachers)!
The school contact (usually the teacher) completes the Regional Entries Transmittal Form.
Students submit online registration form, pay entry fees, & upload required paperwork!
This is when you complete the online entry (including pasting your Abstract), upload all your paperwork including the media/medical release form, research plan, ISEF protocol forms, and pay your entry fee.
If your school is paying your entry fee, you will be able to indicate that when you complete your online entry.
Regional student qualifiers complete the ONLINE ENTRY FORM. Be sure to print a copy for yourself. Go to Student Online Registration for more information.
All paperwork and fees must be submitted/paid online. Schools may provide a purchase order (PO) to pay their students' entry fees. If a school is paying student entry fees, there will be an opportunity for students to indicate this during the payment portion of the online registration process.
All exhibitors & teachers will be sent (via postal mail and email) an information packet about 10 days prior to the Research Challenge date.
