HSSCPresident@salud.unm.edu
I'm a medical student at the UNM School of Medicine, and I'm excited to serve as the Health Sciences Student Council President! For the past two years, I have represented the MD program as a student representative while also holding other leadership positions, and I look forward to building on those experiences as President. I'm dedicated to ensuring that everyone's voice is heard and making the Health Sciences Student Council more accessible to all. My goals for this year include encouraging interprofessional collaboration, creating opportunities for students to get involved in advocacy, and promoting initiatives that prioritize student health!
When I'm not studying, you can find me skiing, running, or trying new coffee shops around ABQ! Please email me with questions about the student council or just to say hi. You can reach me at HSSCPresident@salud.unm.edu or dhussain@salud.unm.edu.

Hi everyone! I am so excited to serve as the Vice President of Outreach for the Health Science Student Council this year! Through my involvement on campus with ASUNM and Kappa Kappa Gamma, I have gained experience in advocating and representing the student body as well as promoting and organizing events. Hey there, I'm your Fall 2025 to Spring 2026 Health Science Student Council Secretary. I am a full time student in my first year of the Master of Public Health program with a concentration in Epidemiology. I graduated from the UNM Bachelors of Science in Population Health program in December 2024. Prior to starting undergrad I moved to Albuquerque, NM in 2020 from St. Petersburg, FL, which is where I grew up. My academic & research interests involve social epidemiology, disease prevention, and health behavior intervention. I have a background in both clinical & academic experiences. From being a Basic Needs Peer Navigator on main campus to working in a local hospital as a nurse tech. Outside of these settings I also work to support health equity program coordination. This school year I'll be the Graduate Assistant working with the Center for Teaching & Learning STEM Tutoring Team. This year I'm also an evaluation fellow in the UNM Evaluation Lab. As your HSSC secretary I plan to support engagement & maintain record of HSSC activities.
