Physical Therapists seeking to become certified in dry needling. All participants must have at least 6 months of experience as a licensed physical therapist by the first day of the live course.
This course will use lecture and laboratory formats to review the anatomy of the upper extremity and key components of upper extremity kinesiology. The goal of the course is to emphasize anatomical relationships in order to enhance the participant’s clinical practice. The morning lectures will present an overview of upper extremity anatomy followed by a presentation on key kinesiology concepts of the upper extremity. Patient cases will be presented to demonstrate the application of fundamental anatomical knowledge to clinical decision making. The afternoon laboratory session will be dedicated to the identification of musculoskeletal and neurovascular structures on prosected cadavers, plastic embedded human cross sections, radiographs, and other imaging modalities. At the conclusion of the course, participants will have acquired a thorough knowledge of upper extremity anatomy and kinesiology from various perspectives.
