The 29th Annual Amazing Newborns Conference, titled, “Figuring It Out from Day One: Challenges in the Newborn Period”, is aimed at providing healthcare professionals tools and skills to assess the need for pharmacological verses non-pharmacological interventions for babies diagnosed with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS). Additional presentations will focus on emerging evidence of the safety of breastfeeding while in drug treatment, the clarify the use of high-flow nasal-cannula to mimic nasal CPAP (nCPAP) in the neonate and providing updated information on effective reading of ECG's in the newborn.
1. Formulate a bedside and longterm care plan of for babies diagnosed with neonatal syphilis.
2. Assess the need for pharmacological verses non-pharmacological interventions for babies diagnosed with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS).
3. Select the best mode of non-invasive respiratory support for neonates in respiratory distress.
