The IHS/Tribal/Urban Basic and Refresher Colposcopy Courses are designed to prepare the new colposcopist in the evaluation and treatment of cervical dysplasia and to provide a review and update for the experienced colposcopist. The program is targeted for IHS, Tribal, and Urban Indian Clinic providers. The refresher course is ideal for gynecologists and primary care providers who do colposcopy. The format includes lectures, interactive audience response session and small group case review sessions with discussion of colposcopic images.
The Basic Course is intended to be a foundation on which to learn colposcopy. It is for women’s health care providers who have not had previous colposcopy training.
The Refresher Course is a shorter program with less emphasis on the basics. It is an ideal review and update for OB/GYNs, family physicians, NPs, PAs, and CNMs who already practice colposcopy and want a brief review of the basics, an update on what’s new with screening and management guidelines and a chance to discuss challenging cases with the expert faculty. It is also an appropriate review for those currently participating in a mentorship or preceptorship program.

UNM Tuition Remission
All eligible UNM faculty and staff may enroll using a UNM Tuition Remission (waiver) to cover tuition costs listed on the registration form. Conferences are subject to cancellation. In the event this conference is canceled, registrants will be notified via email. UNM CPL is not responsible for any airfare, hotel, car rental or other costs incurred by participants.
This conference will be held at the Sheraton Albuquerque Uptown Hotel, 2600 Louisiana Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. A block of rooms has been reserved for participants of the course for the nights of March 28 - March 31, 2023. Please identify yourself as a participant of the Indian Health Basic & Refresher Colposcopy Course, and you will receive the group rate which is $121.00 (plus tax) or prevailing government per diem. Hotel reservations must be received by the hotel on or before Monday, March 8, 2023. Please confirm your conference registration before making travel arrangements.
