This scholarship is for Accelerated BSN students entering the program in Fall 2024. To be eligible, students must be in good academic standing (3.00+ GPA), demonstrate unmet financial need, express a desire to live and work in NM and work in pediatrics after graduating. New Mexico residents and bilingual students will receive preference when considering applications. Award to be distributed over the first year of the student’s program.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico Nursing Scholarship Fund – Post-bachelor’s DNP

Award Amount: $100,000
This scholarship will be awarded to incoming post-bachelor’s DNP students who are starting the program in August 2024 from the following concentrations – family nurse practitioner, nurse-midwifery, pediatric nurse practitioner, and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
Awardees must be admitted to the post-bachelor’s DNP in one of the concentrations listed above, express a desire to live and work in NM after graduating, and consent to having their name shared with the NM Higher Education Department as being a recipient of this scholarship. New Mexico residents and bilingual students will receive preference when considering applications.

Applicant must be enrolled in a UNM BSN NMNEC program (HSC Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Freshman Direct-Entry or Dual Degree). Recipient must be a new Fall admit, be in good academic standing, and be a New Mexico resident. Preference will be given to students in the Taos/UNM BSN Dual Degree program.

Recipient must be an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in UNM CON. This is a merit scholarship and student must be in good academic standing. First preference given to a student willing to work in New Mexico after graduation.
Viens/Montoya Nurse Practitioner Fund

Award Amounts: $200-$600
Recipient must be enrolled in a Nurse Practitioner program (PNP, FNP, ACNP, PMHNP). Candidate must be a resident of New Mexico and have financial need. Applicant will submit a document with the location of the farthest clinical site during that academic year (Fall-Summer), the dates of clinicals and if they had any overnight stays.
The scholarships listed below do not require an application. Any student interested in being considered for a need-based College of Nursing scholarship will need to complete a FAFSA application. Merit-based scholarships will be awarded based on your current cumulative GPA.

The scholarship is intended for new undergraduate students entering the College of Nursing. Funding should go towards tuition, books and room/board. Students receiving the scholarship must be in good academic standing and maintain a 3.0 GPA.
Aladino and Nellie Matteucci Endowed Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the College of Nursing. Recipients must be newly admitted to a MSN or PhD program. This is a merit-based scholarship; recipients must be enrolled full-time and demonstrate academic achievement.
American GI Forum of Albuquerque Endowed Scholarship in Nursing
Number of Awards: 4-6
Award Amount: $500-$600
Recipients of the scholarship must be a full-time BSN, MSN or PhD College of Nursing student. First preference will be given to residents of Albuquerque or Rio Rancho, who are of Hispanic heritage and/or are a veteran. The recipients must be making satisfactory academic progress toward a degree, while maintaining a GPA of 2.0 or better.
HRSA Advanced Nursing Education Workforce Grant (ANEW)
Primary care nurse practitioner and nurse-midwifery students are eligible to apply for the ANEW award in the second year of their program. Ruth M. Firsty Nursing Scholarship Fund

A 1954 School of Anderson alum, Mr. Firsty set up this fund to honor his wife, Ruth Firsty, whose lifelong career was a nurse. Scholarships are to be awarded to four L3 and four L4 students. The scholarship will follow them until they graduate.
