A person can get very sick if they swallow, breathe, absorb or are injected with a poison. Taking someone else’s medicine may also cause illness and even death. Common situations include:
A child swallows bleach
A person takes a double dose of medicine on accident
Family members breathe in too much carbon monoxide gas
A person mistakes their e-cigarette liquid for eye drops
A person gets bit by a rattlesnake while hiking
Your pet gets bit by a black widow spider
