National Poison Prevention Week (NPPW)2025is March 16th – 22rd. This year's theme is, "When The Unexpected Happens."
In 1961, the United States Congress established the third week in March as National Poison Prevention Week (P.L. 87-319). During this week, poison centers across the nation unite to increase poison prevention awareness.
Join us for a live FacebookQ&A Session on March 18th from 11am - 12pm (MDT). This is your opportunity to ask our experts about specific toxins, poison center services, and poison prevention strategies.
New Mexico Poison Prevention Month
Because poisonings continue to be a serious public health issue in New Mexico, our poison center designates the entire month of March as New Mexico Poison Prevention Month (NMPPM). Every March, our Center leads a massive campaign with the generous help and support of our partners and fellow New Mexicans. This year, we will be covering a variety poison-related topics, including Spring Break 2025 safety tips!
Below are a few simple ways that you can make a difference:
Share, Like, and Follow Us: Facebook (@nm.poison), Twitter (@nm_poison), and Instagram(@nmpoison). There will be lots of fun activities and information posted on our social networks.
We are always looking for partners to help us spread poison prevention education! Download the 2025 NPPW tool kit.
