This is a large 5-year collaborative project between UNM HSC and Mind Research Network (MRN) submitted through a Dual PI mechanism (Contact PI: Bakhireva, sub-award PI at MRN: Stephen). This study will employ novel screening approach to identify children with prenatal alcohol exposure at birth coupled with a novel use of non-invasive functional brain imaging measures combined with neurobehavioral assessments in 6- and 20-month-old children to identify functional brain damage associated with prenatal alcohol exposure.

Dr. Ajna Hamidovic, PharmD, MS, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administrative Sciences, has successfully competed for an individual allocation from American Cancer Society (Institutional Research Grant #IRG-92-024).
