The University of New Mexico is the only Carnegie R1 university in the state. R1 designation is prestigious and reserved for doctoral universities with very high levels of research activity.
Research and scholarship are integral to the mission and vision of the UNM Division of Occupational Therapy. Our community of researchers share commonality of dedication towards improving engagement and adaptation in everyday life among people with disabilities across the lifespan. Our program is particularly interested in meeting the needs of New Mexicans and people from diverse backgrounds.
We actively participate in interdisciplinary research across the UNM campus and with local, national, and international research collaborators.
