In 2024, the New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator (OMI) received its first donation pledge from Dr. Corinne Fligner, alumna of The University of New Mexico (UNM) School of Medicine (SOM), in support of the Forensic Pathology fellowship program. The UNM Department of Pathology is grateful to Dr. Fligner for initiating this fund.
The UNM OMI Forensic Pathology Fellowship Professional Development Fund supports the education and professional development of OMI Forensic Pathology (FP) Fellows, including but not limited to materials, travel support, conference fees, visiting lecturers, and other expenses, in order to enhance the experience of OMI Fellows as determined by the OMI FP Fellowship Program Director, Chief Medical Investigator, or Pathology Department Chair.
