The Only Children's Hospital in the State of New Mexico
The Pediatric Hospitalist Group provides pediatric inpatient care, chronic medical care for pediatric rehabilitation inpatients, and outpatient and inpatient pediatric sedation and procedure services to the children of New Mexico. We collaborate closely with both pediatric and surgical specialists to manage acute care needs as well as complex acute and chronic care. Our group is responsible for teaching pediatric and family practice residents for the majority of their inpatient pediatric training as well as medical students.
Division staff include:
14 pediatric hospitalists, 1 chief resident and 2 advanced practice providers provide attending coverage to the General Pediatric Unit, Pediatric Subspecialty Unit and Carrie Tingley Hospital. This busy service has three teams and up to 50 patients at a time. With pediatric subspecialists, hospitalists handle many complex cases.
