Our research mission entails developing an administrative infrastructure that allows for increased research opportunities for all faculty, and recruiting new faculty to contribute to the research needs of New Mexican children. Through these and other efforts already underway in the UNM Health Sciences Center, we hope to create a brighter future for the children of New Mexico and around the world.
The Office of Creative Endeavors, Department of Pediatrics, promotes research and creative activities for the department by providing assistance in grant development, and submission and provides support to the department's research committee.
Our primary objective was to assist members of the department in pursuit of potentially creative activities, especially individual and collaborative research projects.

The UNM Signature Program in Child Health Research (SPCHR) is a program designed to improve the health of children in New Mexico and nationwide.
Residents have lots of opportunity to engage in research endeavors. Current areas of research in the Pediatrics Department of the University of New Mexico are comprised of a diverse array of topics and studies. UNM Health Sciences Center has an ongoing commitment to excellence in producing scholarly and creative works geared toward the collaborative, interdisciplinary efforts of the School of Medicine, College of Nursing, and College of Pharmacy faculty. Our research program promotes scientists from both clinical and basic science disciplines into programs of translational research that are dedicated to finding ways to advance and improve healthcare.
