Mandatory Trainings for Research Personnel

The following trainings are required at UNM HSC for investigators and all study team members:

Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI) – must be renewed every 4 years

Available on Learning Central: HSC Financial Conflict of Interest Training (HSC 104-002) and COI Disclosures (HSC 001)

CITI Training (for human subjects research) – must be renewed every 3 years

Huron IRB system training and IRB account request

Required to gain access to the Huron IRB submission system and to be added to a study. Complete HSC 115-001 in Learning Central or

    Step 1. Go through the Huron IRB self-guided training for investigators

    Step 2: Submit the IRB account management request form

Other Training Resources

Clinical and Translational Science Center (CTSC) – UNM CTSC provides a wide range of training opportunities and resources, including good clinical practice (GCP) and good lab practice (GLP), community-based research, FDA INDs, commercialization, grantsmanship, team work, data managements (including REDCap), and informatics. Visit the training website to find a catalog of courses, including pre-recorded and live sessions.

Essential Knowledge in Pediatric Clinical Trials – This course, offered through the CTSC, introduces key concepts and study design considerations in pediatric research. The course can be accessed from the CTSC Training Catalog, under the Ethics and Safety tab.
