Maia hales from New Mexico and has always known she wanted to pursue a career where she could serve others. When she isn't studying for her nursing courses, she loves hanging out with her friends (some of which she met in her nursing cohort) and spending quality time with her family.
“I loved how accessible resources were at the Rio Ranch campus and how supported I felt by staff and faculty while in the program,” says Maia.
Anna’s path to nursing was shaped by a traumatic event in an emergency room during a nursing internship. While assisting with the care of a gunshot victim, she was faced with the daunting task of confronting a life-threatening injury. Instead of succumbing to fear or hesitation, Anna stepped up to the challenge, guided by other nurses’ instructions. She is excited to keep learning and growing!
“The Rio Rancho cohort is great for learning nursing skills we need for the nursing careers each student wants while also being a tight knit group. I enjoy being in this program on this campus," says Anna.
