Data collection is critical to the success of our program as well as to other public health initiatives. The National Poison Data System collects data in near real-time; thus allowing our Center to achieve the following:
Reduce poison-related injury, illness, and deaths
Improve poison-related treatments
Identify poisoning trends
Identify poison-related outbreaks before they become epidemics
Track public health threats, such as COVID-19, as they develop
Reformulate and repackage products to make them safer
