National Poison Prevention Week (NPPW) 2025 is March 16th – 22rd. This year's theme is, "When The Unexpected Happens."
In 1961, the United States Congress established the third week in March as National Poison Prevention Week (P.L. 87-319). During this week, poison centers across the nation unite to increase poison prevention awareness.

Our Center leads a massive campaign with the generous help and support of our partners and fellow New Mexicans. This year's focus will be on illicit and trending drugs and, the first of its kind, addiction medicine program at the New Mexico Poison and Drug Information Center.
