The UNM Health and Health Sciences Compliance Department consists of two Compliance Committees. They include the UNM Health System Compliance Committee and the UNM Health Sciences Compliance Committee. The primary purpose of these Committees, as set forth in their respective Committee Charters, is to provide oversight by monitoring and improving the Compliance Program’s effectiveness while advancing the UNM Health System’s and the UNM Health Sciences’ mission and community responsibility.
Both Committees provide a group setting that facilitates the sharing of significant changes relative to regulatory requirements, assessment of emerging compliance risks, important industry updates, hot-button compliance developments or news, and compliance-related activities.
The UNM Health System’s Compliance Committee’s membership consists of various Executive Management and Leadership staff from key operational groups from UNM Hospitals, UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center and UNM Medical Group, Inc.
The UNM Health Sciences Compliance Committee’s membership is comprised of Executive Management and Leadership from the College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, College of Population Health, Division of Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology, Office for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, HSC Office of Research, HSC Privacy Office, UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center, UNM HS Rio Rancho Campus, and UNM School of Medicine.
Additionally, the UNM Health and Health Sciences Compliance Department also provides quarterly reports and updates to the UNM Health System’s Audit and Compliance Committees, the UNM Board of Regent’s Audit and Compliance Committee and the UNM Health and Health Sciences Executive Compliance Committee.
