The UNM Health Sciences Center Compliance Office consists of three Compliance Committees. They include the UNM Health System Compliance Committee, the UNM Health Sciences Compliance Committee and the UNM Health Sciences Center Executive Compliance Committee. The primary purpose of these Committees, as set forth in their respective Committee Charters, is to provide oversight by monitoring and improving the Compliance Program’s effectiveness while advancing the UNM Health System’s and the UNM Health Sciences’ mission and community responsibility.
These Committees provide a group setting that facilitates the sharing of significant changes relative to regulatory requirements, assessment of emerging compliance risks, important industry updates, hot-button compliance developments or news, and compliance-related activities.
The UNM Health System’s Compliance Committee’s membership consists of various Executive Management and Leadership staff from key operational groups from UNM Hospitals and the UNM Medical Group, Inc.
The UNM Health Sciences Compliance Committee’s membership is comprised of Executive Management and Leadership from the College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, College of Population Health, Division of Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology, Office for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, HSC Office of Research, HSC Privacy Office, UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center, UNM HS Rio Rancho Campus, and UNM School of Medicine.
The UNM Health Sciences Executive Compliance Committee membership includes representation from various Executive Management and Leadership staff from key operational groups within the UNM Health Sciences Center and the UNM Health System, the Dean of the School of Medicine and the Deans from the various colleges at the UNM Health Sciences Center.
Additionally, the UNM Health Sciences Center Compliance Office also provides quarterly reports and updates to the UNM Hospital’s Audit and Compliance Committee, the UNM Medical Group, Inc.’s Audit and Compliance Committee and periodic reports and updates to the UNM Board of Regent’s Audit and Compliance Committee.
