Minors on Campus

The Health Sciences Center (HSC) is committed to a safe and healthy environment for all including students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors, especially those who are minors. We welcome children and teenagers on our campuses for a variety of programs and activities planned by the HSC or by outside organizations. In all circumstances, adults are expected to be positive role models for minors, acting in a respectful and professional manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the HSC. To promote this vision, the HSC publishes and enforces policies, procedures, and guidelines that have the goal of promoting health, safety, and security for minors on our campuses.

Sponsoring Department Requirements:

1. All programs involving minors on the campus must adhere to UAP 2205 (“Minors on Campus” Policy) and ensure that all requirements listed at the end of the policy are fulfilled. 
2. Upon completion of step 1, your program will need to be created and registered through the LoboYouth platform. In order to get started on this process, please contact Brie Delvin in the HSC Compliance Office (bdelvin@salud.unm.edu) who will guide you through the steps and requirements. NOTE: All programs involving minors require a background check. Background checks must be completed at least one month prior to the start of the program.
