Dear Scientist,
The AIM COBRE is offering vouchers to engage all students in Health and Life Sciences programs in New Mexico’s Universities, who will be formally named as AIM Fellows (FAIM), in projects that will benefit from access to AIM Core Facility resources. We encourage applications to this 1 page application, $5,000 opportunity.
These Core Utilization Vouchers will pay for the student’s use of AIM Core instrumentation. AIM Core instruments include High Content Imaging using Cellomics, Metabolism through Seahorse and others, Imaging flow Cytometry through Amnis. You can find the current existing equipment and technology in the AIM Core here. This voucher can pay for hourly charges needed to utilize core instruments and necessary reagents, to promote studies in autophagy, inflammation, and metabolism. Please consult with Technical Director, Dr. Sharina Desai (aimcore@salud.unm.edu) to discuss core usage. Vouchers will be worth up to $5,000 with priority given to applications that extensively utilize the AIM Core. The deadline for applications is Apr 21st April, with funding through Sep 1st (although extensions will be possible, depending upon funding).
Please include a study title, a brief description of proposed experiments and alignment with AIM Core, and plans for student engagement, in no more than one page. Send to the AIM Program Coordinator, Waverly Cinense (ECinense@salud.unm.edu).
Eventual awardees will become AIM center members and participate in AIM Center activities including expected attendance and presentation of results in our Tuesday AIM Seminar series (TAIMS). Publications resulting from data obtained using the voucher should cite AIM Center P20 grant (P20GM121176 in the acknowledgments, and link to the grant on NCBI.
Sincerely,
Graham Timmins and Larry Sklar
