The University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmaceutical education. Although the Continuing Pharmacy Education Program (CPE) typically sponsors several live program each year, since 1992 the primary focus of the CPE is to produce and distribute original self-study continuing education material for nuclear pharmacists and nuclear medicine professionals. The UNM CPE is the only provider of continuing education approved by the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties for use in the recertification process of Board-Certified Nuclear Pharmacists.

The mission of the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy Continuing Pharmacy Education Program is to advance pharmacy practice through quality, evidence-based education to support lifelong learning of pharmacists, pharmacist clinicians, and pharmacy technicians.
Goals
Maintain a focused and effective continuing education program that is self-sustaining.
Operate a continuing education program that consistently meets the ACPE Criteria for Quality.
Offer contemporary continuing education programming that satisfies the needs of pharmacy practitioners employed in selected specialty practice settings
Provide sponsorship for high-caliber continuing education programming that (a) supports the primary teaching initiatives of the College of Pharmacy, (b) enhances the continuing development of volunteer and permanent (regular) faculty members of the College of Pharmacy, and (c) promotes cross-disciplinary interaction of professional staff and faculty at the UNM Health Sciences Center to the benefit of the New Mexico pharmacy, medical, nursing communities and nuclear pharmacy technicians.
