Fellowship Overview

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The University of New Mexico School of Medicine offers three fellowship opportunities.

Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship

Through the highest level of scholarship, development of rigorous critical thought, and relevant direct practice, you will gain the clinical skills, judgment, demeanor, and professional ethics to provide the utmost quality care to patients with addictive disorders.

Child and Adolescent Fellowship

Our fellowship is interdisciplinary, multicultural, and developmental in orientation. We provide fellows with individual attention and ample supervision, and our program has the flexibility to provide training experiences suited to a particular fellow’s interests and needs.

Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship

Our department emphasizes solid core training in geriatric psychiatry. We also encourage our fellows to pursue their own interests.

Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry

The Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center and the Raymond G. Murphy VA Medical Center is the first and only fellowship of its kind available to qualified psychiatric residents in the state. It is a one-year program that trains fellows to act as expert psychiatric consultants in medical and surgical inpatient and outpatient settings.
