PharmD Dual Degree Programs

PharmD/MBA Dual Degree
Prepare for leadership positions that demand knowledge of both management and health sciences. Once you’re accepted into the Doctor of Pharmacy program, apply to the Anderson School of Management to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree as well. You’ll learn skills to take on management positions in the pharmaceutical industry, health care organizations and pharmacies.
If you plan to enter the dual degree program, talk to the admission officers of both schools as early as possible. You must meet both schools’ admission and academic requirements. If you don’t have a bachelor's degree, you must meet the admission requirements of Anderson's 3-2 MBA program.
Under the dual degree program, the UNM College of Pharmacy accepts six credit hours of MBA core courses as professional electives. The Anderson School of Management accepts six credit hours (PHRM 809 and 837) from the College of Pharmacy towards the 18 elective credit hours the MBA program requires.
PharmD/MS Dual Degree
Integrate research into your pharmacy education and career by earning a master of science (MS) degree along with your PharmD. When you enroll in our PharmD/MS dual degree program, you’ll take research-based courses and get hands-on experience under a faculty mentor’s expert guidance.
To qualify for the PharmD/MS dual degree program, you must:
- Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited school
- Complete one year of the PharmD curriculum
- Earn at least a 3.0 GPA in PharmD coursework
