Dermatology ECHO improves access to care by providing evidence-based approaches and training to primary care providers. Education consists of brief lectures on common dermatologic conditions and case discussions with our faculty. Participants are encouraged to bring their own challenging cases for dialogue with our experts.
Skin conditions are one of the top presenting complaints to primary care providers. In the state of New Mexico there are only approximately 33 board certified dermatologists serving a population of over two million people. Patients may experience long wait times and have to travel a great distance to see a dermatologist. Early access care improves outcomes and decreases morbidity and mortality from skin disease.
