Information for Sponsors and Exhibitors

ACCME Definition of a Commercial Interest

Any entity producing, marketing, re-selling, or distributing health care goods or services consumed by, or used on, patients. The ACCME does not consider providers of clinical service directly to patients to be commercial interests - unless the provider of clinical service is owned, or controlled by, an ACCME-defined commercial interest.

One source of funding for our CME activities is from companies like you. Exhibiting and/or sponsoring is an excellent opportunity to present information about your organization and to develop new contacts. Your partnership will help us advance medical knowledge and allow you to promote your products and/or services to high-end prospective customers; a win-win relationship. In addition, there are many ways to further enhance your company’s presence through support opportunities that will give you the chance to increase your business and to reach physicians and other healthcare professionals.

The University of New Mexico Office for Continuous Professional Learning (UNM CPL) is committed to operating within the policies and expectations of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). To this end, UNM CPL requires that all commercial supporters of accredited continuing medical education (CME) activities enter into an agreement affirming to abide by the ACCME Standards for Commercial Support [website] [PDF].

If you are a prospective commercial exhibitor/sponsor and you are interested in exhibiting/sponsoring at one of our activities, please view our CME activities on our event calendar page. Agreements are activity-specific and can be found on the activity’s event page.

We welcome and thank you for your support!
