EBPM collectively work on the following research and practice areas:Our mission is to promote the health of individuals and communities, in New Mexico and beyond, through excellence in research, education, and service.
We conduct research nationally and internationally to improve clinical and community health. Our local partners include:
The EBPM faculty actively engage in teaching, mentoring, and career development for medical and graduate students. Faculty mentor medical and graduate students in programs such as the Master's of Science in Clinical Research, Master's in Public Health, Master's in Science, and the UNM Preventive Medicine Residency Program. Our faculty also serve as mentors for undergraduate, graduate, and medical students, on their research projects.

Our faculty are dedicated to community and professional services, improving public, community, and occupational health in New Mexico, and beyond.
Preventive Medicine faculty oversee the UNM Center of Occupational and Environmental Health Promotion, as well as the UNM Hospital Occupational Health Clinics.
