The University of New Mexico Primary Care Track (PCT) is a longitudinal experience and curriculum designed by residents and for residents interested in careers in primary care. Through a unique, self-tailored schedule, the track provides residents with exposures in primary care, chronic disease management, outpatient procedures, and career advice and mentorship from primary care faculty.
The track is a two-year curriculum spanning second and third years of Internal Medicine residency. Residents can apply for the track in January of the first or second year.
UNM PCT graduates have gone onto a wide range of positions after residency including academic and communicity medicine, rural medicine, outpatient-focused medical subspecialties, and leadership positions at health systems across the country.
