Pediatric Pharmacy PGY-2 Residency

The state’s premier children’s hospital is excited to offer a new PGY2 program in pediatrics. UNMH is a Level 1 Trauma Center with a pediatric ED, and houses the only Level IV NICU in New Mexico. The pediatric resident will have the opportunity to work closely with the multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care for all of our pediatric patients. Through the various clinical rotations, the resident will gain experience caring for patients from extremely preterm neonates to adolescents, as well a wide variety of pediatric disease states. Our program will be tailored to meet the needs and interests of the PGY2 resident.

Additional Residency Experiences

Staffing one weekend every 3 weeks in one of the Pediatric Critical Care units and one major holiday as defined by the Residency Handbook
Staffing one decentralized weekday evening a week once all required rotations are completed
Didactic lecture(s) at the UNM College of Pharmacy in the Pediatric Pharmacy Elective
Help precept UNM APPE students and UNMH PGY-1 Pharmacy Residents, when available
PALS certification

Three recommendations from healthcare professionals who can attest to your practice abilities, preferred a preceptor who can speak to clinical experience on a rotation
