Fellowship Meetings & Conferences

As a fellow with the University of New Mexico Division of Endocrinology, you will enhance your education and participate in various educational conferences that occur year-round at University of New Mexico Hospital. These conferences include:

• Weekly clinical case conference– Fellows and residents present an interesting or challenging case and relevant medical literature.
• Weekly didactic/board review conference– Two-hour weekly sessions that cover the fundamentals of endocrinology over two years and prepare for the American Board of Internal Medicine exam in the subspecialty of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. A separate formal board review session occurs for 1 hour each week.  
• Monthly journal club– Discuss latest articles that faculty choose based on a theme.
• Neurosurgery, ENT, ophthalmology, endocrine conference– Review clinical presentation, radiology exams and lab studies from the Skull base clinic with members of the departments of neuroradiology, ENT, ophthalmology and endocrinology. The conference is held twice a month, and lunch is provided.
• ENT/Endocrine Tumor Board- Review clinical presentation, radiology, pathology for patients with thyroid and parathyroid disorders. Tumor Board is held once a week.
