The state’s premier children’s hospital is excited to offer a PGY2 program in pediatrics. UNMH is a Level 1 Trauma Center with a pediatric ED, and houses the only Level IV NICU in New Mexico. Furthermore, the resident will have the opportunity to work with the University of New Mexico Hospital’s ECMO program, which is currently designated as an Extracorporeal Life Support Organization ECMO Center of Excellence.
The PGY-2 Pediatric pharmacy residency builds upon Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and PGY-1 pharmacy resident training to develop pharmacist practitioners with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to practice confidently and effectively. The pediatric resident will have the opportunity to work closely with the multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care for all of our pediatric patients. Through the various clinical rotations, the resident will gain experience caring for patients from extremely preterm neonates to adolescents, as well a wide variety of pediatric disease states. Our program will be tailored to meet the needs and interests of the PGY2 resident.
Enjoy living in the warm Southwest, where there are more than 300 days of sunshine each year. You’ll find ample opportunities for outdoor recreation, a thriving arts community, and delicious local cuisine.
