While I had few ties to the Southwest, The University of New Mexico stood out to me as an exceptional institution. It became readily apparent during my interview that this program had remarkable leadership and genuine, hardworking residents. I have truly come to appreciate the camaraderie within the program and the genuine interest in orthopaedics. I often find myself or my co-residents coming early or staying late to help, work, and learn. Albuquerque is a hidden gem. There are so many opportunities within the city or within a several hour drive for just about anything you like to do. I love to hunt, fish, and ski and have found no lack of time or opportunities to do so. I enjoy most outdoor activities, but since moving to Albuquerque, I have been finding myself spending the majority of my free time fishing and skiing.
