When I rotated at The University of New Mexico, I was impressed by the autonomy the residents were able to have. I was also intrigued by the pathology and variety of cases here in Albuquerque. I enjoyed my bonus rotation. It was a great mix of seeing interesting inpatient consults, working on my reduction/splinting skills, and operating room time. I love training in Albuquerque because of the large area we serve. We have patients from all over the state from varying backgrounds. My fiancé was the one who initially moved out to Albuquerque. We love it here. This city allows us to both pursue our careers while taking advantage of being able to enjoy the outdoors. My hobbies outside of medicine include paddle boarding, rock climbing, cycling, yoga, and hiking.
