I rotated at The University of New Mexico and was impressed by a well-balanced program with friendly and supportive attendings and a cohesive group of residents. All of this in a region with amazing outdoor activities. My favorite experiences in this program are during the Wednesday night fracture conferences where all residents get together over dinner and discuss cases and literature. I love training in Albuquerque because of the work-life balance and being able to ski or hike in the mountains most weekends. My hobbies outside of medicine include skiing, hiking, photography, and flying.
