I chose UNM for residency because of the people, the residents and attendings are unlike anywhere else I rotated. Everyone genuinely cares about how you're doing, how your spouse is doing, and most importantly how your dog is doing. I could call any of my co-residents and they would help in a heartbeat. I also chose Albuquerque because of the Sandia Mountains, and the generally great weather. The mountains are beautiful and such a pleasure to see everyday.
