Interests/Hobbies: Running, weightlifting, soccer, golf, hiking, camping, and going to any sports game
I chose UNM because of its culture, which I had heard about from applicants all over the country. That reputation proved true — our residents are hardworking, collaborative, and quick to help each other. The culture starts with our leadership: Dr. Silva and Dr. Treme are incredibly down-to-earth and deeply supportive of us as residents.
Living in Albuquerque has also been a highlight. The Sandia sunrises and sunsets are second to none, the trails offer endless opportunities for running, hiking, and biking, and the food scene — especially the green chiles — is one of a kind. Isleta Ampitheater also has great live concerts in the summer months.
From my first months of residency, I’ve had hands-on experience reducing nearly every type of fracture and dislocation, with the right balance of independence and guidance from upper levels. UNM offers unmatched trauma exposure and an outstanding environment for growth. I’m grateful to be part of this team and excited for the next five years of learning and working alongside such great people."
