Interests/Hobbies: Hiking, flyfishing, camping, hunting, anything outdoors with my golden retriever and kids. 

I chose orthopedics because you get to change lives by improving quality of life, sometimes on a near instant basis.   

UNM has an awesome culture, great training, proximity to many outdoor adventures. Warmest most genuine program I experienced. Faculty truly invest in you and mentor you and coresidents are like family, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.    

During my sub-internship I got to place skeletal traction multiple times, aspirate joints, do nail bed laceration repairs etc. They really let you fly and help you get your hands dirty! 

The UNM ortho family are very family friendly, I take my 3 kids to most events and they are always well received and usually surrounded by other kids.
